The eight bells at Ss Peter & Paul were recast in 1911, and are widely recognised by those who ring them to be one of the finest set of bells across Kent. The lightest bell is just over 3cwt, while the heaviest is just over 14cwt. The band that rings them are a mix of older and more youthful ringers, with a range of experience from many years to more recent recruits. We ring for Sunday services, weddings and other special events - to mark anniversaries, historical events, royal weddings and jubilees. We practice on Tuesday evenings, when our numbers are often increased by a few ringers from neighbouring towers; a bellringer is always welcomed at other towers. Ringing is a friendly and fun activity, with no prior requirement for physical strength or musical skill, and something that young and old can take up and enjoy at any stage. There are also always new skills to learn once the basics have been mastered, so it can be a life-long pastime! Do get in touch if you would like to find out more.
