Lent Groups ‘On the Third Day’ “The resurrection is the Big Story that turned a little Jewish protest movement into a world-transforming religion. And yet by Easter Monday we’ve almost forgotten about it and are planning our summer holidays. How can we recapture the explosive power of the resurrection that ricocheted around the world? How can we live in the glow of resurrection and be an Easter people? How can ‘there and then’ become ‘here and now’? Small groups, made up of people from all of the ECC churches, meet each week during lent. Please sign up on the sheet at the back if you would like to come a group.
Women’s World Day of Prayer will take place on the 2nd March at 10:30am. It is being organised by the Eden Church this year. We are still in need of someone to be coordinator for SSPP for this annual event. For more info on what is involved please speak to Andrea.
Lent Boxes - Lent is with us again and lent collection boxes are on the table at the back of the church. We support two charities, A.C.S and US. ACS is the Additional Curates Society (www.additionalcurates.co.uk) and exists to support our priests. It does this with prayer and funding for poor parishes, and encourages vocations to the priesthood. US is the United Society Partners in the Gospel (www.weareUs.org) an Anglican mission society who practice as they preach. They work all over the world helping people suffering illness, poverty, discrimination, lack of education etc. Please take a box this Lent and fill it with all that cash you save by giving up chocolate, beer and cakes. Then bring your box back to church at Easter or soon after. Your contribution will be much appreciated by our charities. Thank you.

Do you have a few books age 3 to 12 for our little rebuilt project in the island of Dominica? It was hit badly by hurricane Maria. It is a very poor island and they have lost 80% of their possessions. I am focusing on the 2 little schools. The children and teachers are so keen to learn after their traumatic experience. We need gentle books no violence. It will be soooo well received. I am going back on the 24th so will need them very soon. Please contact Andrea if you can help. Brigitte Hunter.
